Kitchen Remodel

FINALLY!!

After 2 months the kitchen is done! Well except for decorating. It has been a long and unpleasant journey which even involves a settlement now (we got ripped off by Just Countertops)....
However I am thankful for my gorgeous new kitchen! We have learned a lot about home remodeling and contractors. Personally I think it can be a very shady business, but then again we have found some honest, hard working people out there too. Now for the pics!!

C7 fun!

This weekend we went to Centerville to the Evans' property for some good ol' country fun! We all had really great time just playing and enjoying being disconnected from technology. I love that Addison and Reed can run around and explore the outdoors. Too fun!

Happy Adoption Day!

Today I kissed an angel.
I knew it from the start.
The first time my angel smiled at me;
I gave away my heart.

Today I kissed an angel;
This angel child of mine
Though not of my creation,
My child by God's design.

Today I kissed an angel.
My heart is dancing wild;
Our family, by a miracle;
Blessed by our angel child.

Our Trip to Miami

Jason and I had a wonderful trip to Miami! We dropped the girls off with his parents in Tyler, TX on Wednesday and flew out Thursday. Miami is very beautiful! The water is turquoise and the beaches are white sand. We got to play and enjoy the city during the day Friday and Saturday but had some business dinners and awards ceremonies to attend those evenings. I am very proud of my husband for working so hard and earning this reward! Sunday through Tuesday we enjoyed South Beach at night (Lord, have mercy!), Ocean and Lincoln drive, awesome Cuban food, the beach and some alone time together. It was truly a wonderful vacation and a time to relax and recharge. Looking forward to next year, Maui in May and Caesars in July!

Happy 4th of July!

On Friday after the contractors finished the kitchen tile we packed up and headed to San Antonio to see our dear friends the Marshall's for a much needed break and the holiday weekend! We were suppose to visit the previous weekend but Addison was sick so we went for the 4th instead and thank goodness we did! Addison had been talking about playing with Neely and Jack everyday since she was sick. On the way there she was so excited she could not stand it, asking about every twenty to thirty minutes if we were at their house yet. Finally on 1604 she said, "Neely and Jack live far, far away!" Jason and I just laughed.

On Saturday we got up and had some fun in the sun! The kids played in the backyard I think for most of the day. Makenzi set up the slip n' slide and sprinkler which was a blast and later that afternoon we headed to the pool for some more water fun. After dinner, baths and bed for the kiddos Jason, Bryan and Chris went to watch the UFC fight while Mak and I shared some vino on the back porch and enjoyed the breeze. One word to sum the evening up: Rock stars...Let's just say the adults had as much (MORE) fun as the kiddos did and it was a little hard to get up Sunday morning ;0)

Independence day was filled with lots of food, family and fun! We had a wonderful time cooking out and visiting with Bryan and Makenzi's family. Sadly we had to leave late Sunday afternoon to be home for our counter top installation Monday so we did not get to pop fireworks. We did see a ton in the sky as we drove home.

Thanks Bryan, Makenzi, Neely and Jack for a wonderful weekend and we can't wait till next time!
