Two Words

About a week ago I was shredding a bunch of documents when I came across my medical file. I asked for copy of it after our IVF failed and we were finished with infertility treatments. As I started to shred this file I came across two words written and underlined in my file: Uterine Synechiae. Never heard of it? Neither have I...No one ever mentioned this to me during treatments but this was my diagnosis. Finally! An answer to why we could not get pregnant. It does not change a thing we would do differently, but it does explain A LOT.

Uterine Synechiae are intrauterine adhesions. They may involve small focal areas of endometrium, or they can be so extensive that they obliterate the entire endometrial cavity. Uterine Synechiae can present with the symptom of primary or secondary infertility due to interference with embryo implantation.

So there you have it...An answer! Like I said before it does not change a single thing we would have done differently, just nice to have an explanation. God had a plan for us, we followed it and received two beautiful baby girls!

Wordless Wednesday: Red, White and Blue

4th of July in Midland

I know this is late...been a little busy.

This 4th of July we drove to Midland to see the Oliver family. It was a decent drive out there, all eight and half hours. The girls did really well and I packed plenty of movies, snacks and games to get us through the long drive. Once we arrived the girls were ready to swim in the pool in the backyard. And that's what we did all weekend long. Our days consisted of: breakfast, swimming, lunch, swimming, dinner, swimming...You get my point, we swam A LOT. Both girls are little fishes that's for sure!

We also really enjoyed seeing family. It's not often that we see this side of the family and it was great meeting Jennifer's new baby Isabel and visiting with everyone! Addison fell in love with Bailey and is still talking about her. Overall it was a great 4th of July weekend and we hope to visit West Texas again soon!
