Carnival at HLSR

Saturday morning we went to the Carnival at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. The HLSR is one of my favorite things about Houston and I have been going to since I was a little girl. I was excited to take my girls and show them all the fun the rodeo has to offer. When we arrived we went straight to the rides at the carnival. Since we got there early and there were not a lot of people there yet we were able to get Addison on some of the rides that are 42 inches or higher to ride. Addison is about 40 inches and technically not tall enough to ride some of the roller coasters but luckily she was able too and she had a lot of FUN!!! I think her favorite roller coaster was the Crazy Coaster. Jason and I both got a chance to ride with her and it was a blast! The best part was hearing her non stop laughter and giggles!

Later in the afternoon Ashley FINALLY got to ride two rides. Little Miss Ashley is still a shorty and there not a lot of rides for toddlers. Addison and I rode the Bumble Bee's with her. Ashley was not sure at first but then loved it and threw a fit to get off. Nice we created a little ride monster! For the rest of the day she was not happy unless she was riding something. So needless to say we left pretty quick after there were no more rides for her. Ashley's favorite ride was the Ferris Wheel. She had the biggest smile the entire time we rode it. She was even brave enough to ride with her hands up in the air. I think know I have another little dare devil on my hands that Jason created.

The last part of our day we spent at the piggie races. It was really cute to watch the pigs race and the girls loved yelling out, "Sooie"! We did not make over to the livestock show this year like I had hoped for. By the time we were done at the carnival, the livestock show was very crowded and Ashley was ready to nap.

Overall it was a wonderful family day and I am looking forward to taking the girls to the HLSR every year!!
P.S. Thanks Mimi and Popi for the tickets!!!
